Phil Humber

Senior Pastor Pastor Phil has served at Lake Hills since 2005. As senior pastor, he provides vision and direction to the overall ministry of the church, as well as giving spiritual nourishment through the expository Christ-centered preaching of God’s Word. His greatest satisfaction comes from seeing individuals grow in their faith and their relationship with God.

Prior to coming to Lake Hills, Phil ministered for fourteen years in Central America as a cross-cultural missionary. While there, he was involved in church planting, the training of young pastors and he helped lead a fellowship of 20 congregations.

Having grown up in a Christian home, Phil heard the Gospel often and was led to personal faith in Christ at the age of nine by his father. Originally from Florida, Phil grew up fishing and swimming along the Gulf Coast beaches of the Northwest Panhandle.

Phil has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in theology and international ministries. He speaks Spanish fluently and continues to travel and minister in Latin America.

Since becoming a Hoosier, Phil has begun to explore the principle fishing holes of northern Indiana. He enjoys spending time with his family and secretly dreams of one day owning a 1967 2-door Chevy Malibu. Phil and his wife, Sarah, have two young daughters. They all live in Schererville.
