Dear Church Family,

Health concerns with the coronavirus have been rapidly changing. On Thursday afternoon Indiana Governor, Eric Holcomb, announced a new state-wide ordinance limiting gatherings to no more than 250 people. (You can read that here.) This measure is designed to help slow and reduce the spread of the covid-19 virus.

In cooperation with state and national efforts to mitigate the spread of the virus, we are suspending all church activities for the next two weeks. This measure is also out of an abundance of caution to help keep all members of our church community safe.

To be clear, starting today, March 13 through Wednesday March 25, we will not be holding public worship services, Bible classes, Family Fellowship Groups, or any Wednesday evening activities. At this present time, our next planned public gathering will be Sunday services on March 29.

Ultimately, we believe these proactive steps are helpful, warranted and wise at this time. We will continue to monitor further developments and guidance provided by public health and state officials.

As we adjust to the current situation, I am so thankful that we have Jesus, who gives us a hope and a purpose beyond this life. While this kind of global health crisis is new to us in our lifetime, it is certainly not new to the human experience. I am thankful that Jesus gives us a hope that transcends all of the uncertainties of this life.

It is important to remember that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind”. I want to encourage you to walk in the confidence of God’s promises. God knows the end from the beginning and we can rest in His faithful love.

Let us be in prayer for those who are being seriously impacted by the current situation. Let’s also remember to pray for the many medical professionals, educators, missionaries, and others who are affected.

While we will not be meeting in person, we have already made plans to host our worship service live online this Sunday starting at 10am. You can join this worship service on our church Facebook page HERE. We will communicate more details over the next 24 hours.

I certainly look forward to the freshening, encouraging time when we can gather together again in person. In the meanwhile, I am excited to meet online to worship Jesus together this Sunday at 10:00am through Facebook. We will see you there.

In faith,

Pastor Phil
